Working with the soft upper layers, the firmer base ensures you're well-supported.
Tempur Cloud mattresses are best suited to lighter- and medium-weight people.
All Tempur Cloud mattresses are easy to maintain thanks to their no-turn designs and removable and machine-washable covers.

It has the same basic materials as the Tempur Original but also features a Dynamic Support Layer.

It is an excellent choice for those looking for the body-hugging and pressure-relieving feel of Tempurpedic memory foam without the difficulty of movement.

Tell me more about the Tempur One
The Tempur One is made from the classic, comfortable, and pressure-relieving Tempur memory foam material.
Unlike other Tempur models, which come in one firmness level, One by Tempur allows you to choose your level of firmness.
Also, unlike the other ranges, One by Tempur is only available in a low height 20 cm (7.8 inches) option.
It also only comes in 3 sizes: double, king, and super king, compared to the 10 UK and EU sizes that most other Tempur mattresses are available in.
Handily, the more affordable One by Tempur also comes with a removable and machine-washable mattress cover.

Tempur mattress selection
At first glance, the Tempur mattress selection can be a little confusing. 🤯
There are several options available, including different models within various collections.
Luckily, we've spent some time studying the Tempur collection to help you make sense of it all.
Understanding the Tempur mattress range
There are five basic models in the Tempur mattress range.
These are:
- Tempur Original mattresses
- Tempur Hybrid mattresses
- Tempur Cloud mattresses
- Tempur Sensation mattresses
- One by Tempur mattresses
These mattresses (except for One by Tempur) are often further subdivided into three categories:
- Supreme: Mattresses with a depth of 21 cm (8.2 inches)
- Elite: Mattresses with a depth of 25 cm (10 inches) and QuickRefresh covers
- Luxe: Mattresses with a depth of 30 cm (11.8 inches) and QuickRefresh covers
While terms like "QuickRefresh cover" may sound fancy, it simply means the zips are placed at the top of the mattress, making it easier to remove and, therefore, wash the mattress cover. 🧼
For all Tempur mattresses, the Supreme version is the cheapest and the Luxe the most expensive.
Let's take a closer look at the various models in each Tempur mattress collection.

One by Tempur mattresses
One by Tempur is the newest and cheapest Tempur mattress. 🤩
Unlike most Tempur mattresses, the One by Tempur is only available in one depth, a relatively low height of 20 cm (7.8 inches).
However, it is available in three different firmness levels (soft, medium, and firm).
Like the other Tempur mattresses, the One by Tempur is a no-turn mattress that comes with a removable and washable cover. 🧼
Who are Tempur mattresses suitable for?
While Tempur has some of the best mattresses on the market, they're not cheap (not by a long shot)! 💰💰💰
Tempur mattresses are best for:
- People looking for a luxury mattress
- Those who suffer from neck or back pain
- Couples
- People who feel the cold easily
Let's take a closer look at why Tempur mattresses are so good for these groups of people. 🔍
People looking for a luxury mattress
Tempur mattresses are the crème de la crème of mattresses.
They are an excellent choice if you want the best product and have no budgetary constraints. 💰
Tempur was the first brand to revolutionise the use of memory foam in mattresses and is still the only one to incorporate NASA-approved foam.
People with back or neck pain
Tempur material adapts perfectly to the body's contours.
This reduces pressure points throughout the body, particularly in the hips, shoulders, and neck. 💢
By contouring to the body, Tempur memory foam supports your entire body, ensuring optimal spinal alignment.
Tempur mattresses support the body as and where it needs.
They help prevent pressure build-ups and reduce aches and back pains! 👏
Couples
Tempur's high-density memory foam has very low motion transfer.
This means motion isn't passed through the mattress, so you won't feel your partner tossing and turning.
Tempur's low-motion transfer mattresses are ideal for couples, especially if one of you fidgets frequently or if you have different sleep schedules.
People who easily feel cold at night
Memory foam retains more heat than other foams. 🥵
People who easily feel cold at night generally like the extra warmth and comfort of a memory foam mattress.
Still not sure if a Tempur mattress is right for you?
Let's narrow things down a little further by looking at who shouldn't buy from Tempur. 👇
Who are Tempur mattresses NOT suitable for?
While Tempur mattresses are undeniably high-quality products, they're not great for everyone. 🙅
Tempur mattresses are unsuitable for:
- Hot sleepers (you'll be better off with a spring mattress or cooling mattress).
- Those who prefer the bounce of a spring mattress may find Tempur foam mattresses uncomfortable.
- People on a budget.
Why not check out some of our more affordable options if you're still unsure whether a Tempur mattress is for you?
Our favourite value-for-money mattresses:
How comfortable are Tempur mattresses?
Tempur mattresses are among the most comfortable (if expensive) options on the market.
This is largely because Tempur relies on world-class materials, including their revolutionary NASA-approved memory foam. 😳
Let's explore this a bit further.
The science behind Tempur's memory foam
Tempur is the original memory foam mattress brand.
The history of memory foam dates back to 1966 when NASA [1] first designed it as a pressure-absorbing material to cushion astronauts' seats and absorb impact during space travel. 🚀
Today, you don't have to be an astronaut to experience space technology.
Tempur moved memory foam from space travel into the mattress market and launched its first memory foam mattress in 1991.
Why is Tempur memory foam so special?
Memory foam (or viscoelastic polyurethane foam) is made of polyurethane [2] and a few additional chemicals which increase viscosity and density.
It is characterised by its so-called memory effect (or memory imprint).
So, when you apply pressure to the foam, it leaves an imprint.
Below, you can see how this memory effect works on the Tempur Sensation Elite mattress. 👇
This 'memory effect' allows the foam to adapt remarkably well to your body shape for body-contouring comfort and support. 🤗
Memory mattresses have the unique ability to conform to the sleeper's body, alleviating pressure points and tension.
This pressure relief helps your muscles relax fully.
The memory effect also makes memory foam mattresses ideal for back pain, which is why they're often recommended as orthopaedic mattresses.
Tempur's high-quality memory foam mattresses have an exceptional memory effect.
How firm are Tempur mattresses?
Tempur mattresses are available in soft to firm to better fit different types of sleepers. 😴
It's worth noting that all Tempur mattresses include Tempur memory foam, which is heat-sensitive, allowing it to adapt perfectly to different bodies.
Tempur foam is firmer when cold and softer when warmer. 🪶
While all memory foam mattresses feel softer when warm, there are still different firmness levels.
So, which is the best Tempur mattress for you?
- If you like soft mattresses, the Tempur Cloud is a good fit.
- If you like medium-firm mattresses, the Tempur Hybrid and Tempur Original are most suitable.
- If you like firm mattresses, the Tempur Sensation is best.
The One by Tempur is available in soft, medium, or firm.
Choosing the right degree of firmness is largely a matter of personal preference, though your build and sleeping style also play a part.
So, how does your weight and preferred sleeping position impact the level of firmness you should choose?
- Soft mattresses are best for lighter-weight people and side sleepers.
- Medium-firm mattresses are best for average-weight people and combination sleepers.
- Firmer mattresses are best for heavier-weight people and pure stomach sleepers or back sleepers.
There is no "one-fits-all" rule to firmness, but you likely already have some idea of what you like or don't like.
The easiest way to see if a mattress is right for you is to try it out! 🤔
Luckily, all Tempur mattresses come with a 100-night trial, so you can test it in the comfort of your own home and exchange it if you don't love it.
Tempur mattress sizes
Tempur has one of the most impressive ranges of mattress sizes around!
Most Tempur mattresses are available in 10 sizes. 🙌
You'll find a mix of standard UK mattress sizes as well as special and European mattress sizes on Tempur's website.
These include UK sizes:
- Tempur mattress small single: 75 x 200 cm (2'6" x 6'6”)
- Tempur mattress single: 90 x 190 cm (3’ x 6’3”)
- Tempur mattress small double: 120 x 190 cm (4' x 6'3")
- Tempur double mattress: 135 x 190 cm (4’6” x 6’3”)
- Tempur mattress king: 150 x 200 cm (5’ x 6’6”)
- Tempur mattress super king: 180 x 200 cm (6’ x 6’6”)
As you can see, there are 6 UK mattress sizes, including special small single and small double sizes.
If you need a non-UK mattress size, you're also in luck.
Tempur mattresses also come in alternative sizes, including:
- Tempur mattress long single: 90 x 200 cm (3’ x 6'6”)
- Tempur mattress European small double: 120 x 200 cm (4' x 6'6")
- Tempur mattress European Queen:160 x 200 cm (5'3" x 6'6")
- Tempur mattress special size: 135 x 200 cm (4'6" x 6'6")
Just bear in mind that if you opt for a 'special' mattress size, you may have more difficulty finding the perfect-fit bed frame and bedding. 🤦
In addition, One by Tempur doesn't follow this range of sizing and is only available in 3 sizes (double, king, and super king).
How much do Tempur mattresses cost?
While no Tempur mattresses are cheap, the exact price will vary depending on the model and size.
On average, prices range from £1,100 to over £3,000! 💷
While a Tempur mattress is a considerable investment, it is also very durable, lasting 10 years or more.
Their mattresses are far more expensive - but also better quality - than budget ones from Argos, Silentnight, or Happy Beds.
Of course, you don't necessarily have to spend Tempur prices for a mattress that lasts.
There are many affordable and high-quality mattresses, including memory foam ones, available.

Tempur delivery conditions
We recommend buying directly from Tempur or through an authorised retailer like Dreams for the best delivery experience.
Tempur delivery is free of charge within the UK mainland. 🚚
Unfortunately, delivery is slower than most other online mattress brands.
Mattresses should arrive within 14 to 28 days of ordering, while smaller items usually take 3 to 10 days, and beds can take up to 14 weeks, depending on the design requested.
On the bright side, Tempur allows customers to select a designated delivery date for larger items. 📆
Unlike most online bed-in-a-box brands, Tempur mattresses are delivered flat.
By delivering its mattresses flat, Tempur avoids the damage that can occur if mattresses are left rolled and vacuum-packed for too long.
Tempur trials and guarantees
Thankfully, Tempur mattresses come with a risk-free 100-night trial and a 10-year guarantee.
This is great news, especially considering the financial investment involved in purchasing a Tempur product. 💷
Tempur trial
With the Tempur trial, you can try your Tempur mattress at home for 100 nights, allowing you plenty of time to adjust to the new sleeping surface.
If you don't love your mattress, you can return it!
There is a catch though - you'll only get the 100-day risk-free trial period if you order directly from the Tempur website! 👎
If you order via Dreams, you'll only get a 40-night sleep guarantee.
With the Tempur trial, you can only exchange your mattress, not send it back for a full refund.
You'll also have to pay additional costs if the new mattress you've chosen is more expensive and you'll have to pay for the new delivery.
Frankly, this is a little disappointing, especially considering the price of a Tempur mattress. 👎
Other brands, like Nectar and Simba, offer superior trials, including longer trial periods and a full refund if you don't love their products!
Tempur guarantee
The Tempur guarantee covers faulty items.
We'd suggest using a mattress protector to ensure you don't void your warranty and accidentally damage the mattress.
Much like its trial period, you'll only get the full 10-year Tempur guarantee if you buy your mattress from Tempur.
Unfortunately, several customers have complained in Tempur reviews that nobody would honour the guarantee when they bought from an alternative retailer. 😡
Should you buy a Tempur mattress?
Tempur mattresses are exclusive, high-quality, memory foam-based products which promise a restful sleep.
However, for the price, we would like to see Tempur improve its trial and delivery services.
Despite the lacklustre trial and delivery, Tempur mattresses are an excellent choice if you don't have any budgetary constraints. ⭐
