Aeyla FOAMO pillow composition

The Aeyla FOAMO pillow combines a shredded foam fill of 85% memory foam and 15% microfibre with a super soft pillowcase consisting of 40% bamboo, 30% cotton, and 30% polyester velour.

Materials are CertiPUR-US [1] certified to be free from harmful chemicals and toxins.

Gel-infused memory foam and microfibre mix filling

Memory foam is well known for its ability to perfectly mould to your body or head and neck, as is the case with pillows.

This ensures that you’ll receive the best support no matter your sleeping position.

As a standard, memory foam sleeps quite hot, but gel-infusion counteracts the heat retention properties, meaning you can sleep cooler and more comfortably.

The memory foam in the Aeyla FOAMO pillow is also shredded, which gives it more of a feels-like-down characteristic while still offering adaptable memory foam support.

Bamboo-cotton pillow cover

The outer shell of the Aeyla FOAMO is made of a 40% bamboo and 30% cotton blend, with an additional 30% polyester velour.

It feels soft and luxurious to the touch, and comes in a perfect white.

This is wonderful, as many new-age pillows come in very vibrant designs that pop through plain-white pillowcases.

If you’re after an elegant, timeless look, the Aeyla FOAMO is an excellent choice.

Cotton and bamboo are also incredibly breathable, aiding airflow and further enhancing the pillow's temperature-regulation properties.

Bamboo pillows are also very hypoallergenic, making this a great choice for people prone to allergies.

What does sleeping on the Aeyla FOAMO pillow feel like?

The Aeyla FOAMO pillow is primarily a memory foam product.

BUY FOAMO PILLOW£ 89

This means you can expect that typical memory foam feel - the pillow will contour to the shape of your head and neck, ensuring you’re well-supported.

But, since the Aeyla pillow features shredded memory foam, you’ll get more of those feels-like-down characteristics and a softer support than you’d expect with one-block or block-layered memory foam pillows, like the Panda Memory Foam pillow or Emma Premium pillow, respectively.

This is great for people who are looking for a softer or medium-firm pillows

During our Aeyla FOAMO pillow review, we found the product to be comfortable and the perfect mix of traditional and memory foam pillows.

How firm is the Aeyla FOAMO pillow?

The Aeyla FOAMO pillow is ranked as a medium-firm pillow that offers good support without being overly firm.

What if I need an even softer pillow?

Aeyla also sells the Dual pillow, which has a pillow in a pillow design and feels even softer than the FOAMO.

We look at this pillow in the FAQs.

How customisable is the Aeyla FOAMO pillow?

Customisable pillows are all the rage as sleep brands are beginning to recognise that we all have individual builds and sleep preferences.

Generally, you’ll find two types of customisable pillows:

  • Those that include multiple layers where you can add or remove layers until you find your perfect loft. These layered pillows tend to feel firmer. Good examples include the Emma Original pillow and the Brightr Eclipse pillow.
  • Those with a shredded filling where you can remove individual handfuls of shredded foam for a more unique customisation. These shredded pillows tend to feel slightly softer and more like traditional down pillows. The Simba Hybrid pillow and the Aeyla FOAMO fall into this category.

To customise the loft and firmness of the pillow, simply zip open the cotton outer cover to reveal and remove the inner pocket.

We found the pocket easy to remove, but some other Aeyla FOAMO pillow reviews have mentioned that this part can be a little cumbersome.

Once you've removed the inner pocket, zip that open to access the individual shredded foam pieces, and remove as many handfuls as you’d like until you find a loft and firmness that works best for you.

Unfortunately, Aeyla doesn’t provide a bag for storing these extra foam pieces, but we’d recommend simply placing them into a breathable fabric bag for safekeeping.

It’s a good idea to keep the foam you take out just in case your preferences change.

So how do you know how much filling to keep?

  • Side sleepers generally need a higher-loft pillow, so you'll want to keep more of the filling to ensure adequate neck support and no shoulder pain.
  • Back sleepers need a medium-loft pillow, so remove some of the filling so your spine is optimally aligned while lying down to prevent back pain.
  • Stomach sleepers are best off with a very low-loft pillow, so remove as much filling as required to get a good night's sleep (though even the right pillow won't save you from neck pain if you sleep on your front).

By customising the Aeyla FOAMO pillow, you'll be able to get perfect pillow to suit your sleeping style.

Can you wash the Aeyla FOAMO pillow?

Memory foam and water don’t mix, and you should never pop your memory foam products into the machine.

Luckily, though, the Aeyla FOAMO pillow cover can be machine-washed at up to 40℃ on a gentle cycle.

Even though the cover is machine-washable, we’d also recommend always using a pillow protector and adding a luxurious pillowcase.

Why not try the silky-soft Aeyla Eucalyptus Silk pillowcase?

Aeyla FOAMO pillow delivery conditions

Aeyla does not offer free delivery on all products, but the FOAMO pillow is above the minimum purchase amount and does qualify for free delivery.

Delivery takes place within 2 - 5 working days, though we already received ours one day after ordering.

The pillow is delivered rolled-up and compressed to take up less space during the delivery process.

To unwrap, simply remove the pillow from its box and carefully cut off the plastic wrapping.

Your pillow will begin to expand immediately and should reach its full size within one hour.

We didn’t experience any off-gassing during our Aeyla pillow review, but don’t be alarmed if you do.

Off-gassing is a slightly chemical smell that’s very common with compressed products, but it’s neither toxic nor harmful. 🧪

We simply recommend letting your product air out a bit in a well-ventilated room until the smell disappears.
